Modern Foreign Languages
Looking for language learning materials - look no further. Welcome to the new Gazelle Books' MFL website. Newly updated for 2008 we have now included a section of professional resources specifically for language teachers. A convenient link has been added below to take you straight to these pages so do take a look. For your convenience we have also added a Google® link to enable you to search both our site and the entire World Wide Web for any help you are looking for.
We hope that you
find the range of titles on offer as fascinating as we do! As you will gather,
Gazelle represent a variety of language education publishers. There are a number
of UK and European originated titles but the majority originates from the United
States and Canada. It's interesting to note that more emphasis is given to the
acquisition of grammatical skills at a lower level of study across the Atlantic
than has been the case in Britain for a very long time. Much of the material
contained here brings students along with grammar as they acquire vocabulary -
not a bad idea!
All the titles available for a given language are grouped into that specific
language section. The aim is to make this site easier to use and to make it
simpler for you to find the material you are looking for.
For the classicists
we have included Latin titles. Before you contact us to tell us, we appreciate
that Latin can hardly be described at a 'modern foreign language,' but we've
included them by popular demand.
There is no doubt that you can't be expected to either recommend or adopt a
title that you haven't seen. We're therefore very happy to send inspection
copies to any school, college or university without obligation - all you have to
do is ask! When you have made your decision orders can be placed directly to
Gazelle Book Services or through your usual bookseller or educational supplier.

Prices indicated are UK recommended retail inclusive of Value Added Tax. All books are zero rated in Britain but UK and EU customers are required to pay 17.5% VAT on all packs containing non-book items such as audio or video cassettes or compact discs. We would remind you that all UK state sector schools, as well as VAT registered businesses, are able to reclaim any VAT paid.
